Designing for Flow:
Astravue's Mobile App Experience
Astravue already had a powerful web platform for strategic planning and team alignment.
But their users weren't always at their desks. So when they approached us to design the mobile experience, the goal was clear: Make it ridiculously fast and easy to manage strategic tasks, from anywhere.
So we stepped in to answer a simple but critical question:
"How can we make strategic planning feel effortless on mobile?"
Mobile-First Design
Design Philosophy
Reduce clicks, not features
Everything users need in 3 taps.
Mirror the mental model
The app thinks like its users.
Make the interface disappear
Let the workflow shine, not the UI chrome.
Collaboration Highlights
- Co-designed with Astravue's internal designer
- Rapid Figma iterations + clickable prototypes

User Persona
Rahul
Age: 35
Front End Developer
Characteristics
- • Prefers clarity over complexity, wants to see tasks at a glance
- • Values task reminders and deadline tracking
- • Dislikes cluttered dashboards and manual task tracking
For Rahul, it's more about...
- Efficiency: Wants to take action in seconds, not dig through menus
- Deadline Management: Needs a system to avoid last-minute stress
- Collaboration: Should be able to coordinate with his teammates seamlessly
And less about...
- Overloaded Dashboards: Too much data can be distracting
- Manual Entry Overload: Prefers automation over extra work
Key Needs
Quick Daily Overview
One-glance task list that highlights high-priority and high-deadline tasks to go into weekend efficiently.
Task Management Alerts
Automated reminders to ensure no missed deadlines. Clear task assignments with priority labels and due dates.
Final Takeaway
Rahul wants an app that helps him focus on his work, not manage work. He needs a simple tool that gives clarity, delivers relevant reminders, and ensures smooth collaboration with his team.
What We Did
Focus: PMF Principle
"Solve the user's problem in the most efficient way possible."
We started by mapping the real-world context of how users engage with tasks.
Astravue:
- 1Quick check-ins to know what the user's day looks like
- 2Logging tasks while commuting
- 3Updating tasks when a team mate mentions one
Everything in the mobile design had to reflect that need for speed and clarity.
What We Built

One-Tap Floating Action
Context-aware FAB for instant task creation. No multi-step menus, just action.

Smart Home Page
Clean dashboard showing today's goals, key updates, and urgent tasks at a glance.

Quick Access Navigation
One-hand navigation with bottom nav bar for effortless switching between tasks.
User Feedback from Guerrilla Testing
"I love that I can just open the app, click a button, and log a task. No distractions."
"The home screen feels like a quick overview of my day."
"This is how strategic planning should feel — fast, simple, mobile."
Impact
reduction in task creation time
of users now prefer mobile for daily check-ins
rated the experience as 'easy and intuitive'
Takeaway
Design isn't about what looks good, it's about what removes friction.
The best mobile experiences disappear into the workflow, letting users focus on their goals rather than the interface.
